If I had known before what this show was going to be like, I would have questioned the amount of press in the pit as well as the turn out. Having worked with the likes of Courtney Love and her work on the infamous Saw movie soundtracks I would have hoped for a better turn out in the venue it was held. Despite this there was a good crowd of devoted fans some in burlesque outfits and some in gothic Lolita. I was actually surprised by the amount of males in the audience that is until half way through the show, when every guy (and a lot of the women) in the room started cheering at the girl on girl action.
When I picked up my pass, I was told the show was going to be 2 hours long, with no support. I would get 3 songs in the press pit to take photos but then I was allowed to take photos from the crowd. Best rules ever in my opinion. I was disappointed it was then my standard zoom decided it was going to give up on me, so I was left shooting with a 70-200mm zoom which led to more intimate portraits but I did struggle to get full body shots.
The Bloody Crumpets ( <3) took to the stage first, then EA with an insane and intricate mask that Lady Gaga herself would be jealous of. The danced around the stage slowly and elegantly demanding everyone’s attention and they got just that. The dramatic stage lights completed the beautifully surreal stage set up with back drop, tea cups, teddies and a keyboard. From then on it was all go with wheelchairs, biscuit throwing in the audience, girl on girl smooches, flamed hula hoops, fire eating, and some of the most beautiful violin playing that you have ever heard. I also have to say that there was a lot of attention to the detail in this show, especially with the costume designs and the make-up.
Despite the insane of amount of visuals that you keep your eyes occupied for the entire 2 hours, the melodic sounds of EA’s violin and her unique vocals make this show an all round masterpiece. I highly recommend that you see Emilie Autumn and her Bloody Crumpets live even if it is not on this Asylum Tour (which finishes in March) she really is a must see as words cannot really state how awesome this show was.

Next time she tours seriously go for it, i missed a load of shots as my main lens randomly died that night so i had to shoot everything with my 70-300
Cool thing was though we were allowed to shoot from the audience after the first 3 songs.
I read up on her and i still didnt expect around 97% of the stuff at that gig lol
